LACTOGG®’s probiotic strain has been studied and consumed for over 30 years. It is a natural bacterium which may be found normally in the intestinal tract of healthy humans. It is extensively documented to be safe.
Clinical studies have proven that LactoGG’s probiotic strain is safe for long term and routine consumption in extremely small, premature babies admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Units. The youngest baby who had consumed LactoGG’s probiotic strain over a long period was born nearly 5 month premature and weighed only 0.465kg.
A 6 year study in Italy calculated that doctors gave nearly 20,000 doses of LACTOGG® to these tiny babies in intensive care units and no harmful event was noted throughout that period.
A 10 year safety surveillance was carried out in Finland and another in Sweden, involving over 4 million citizens. These long term safety studies reported that there was no increased incidence of invasion of LACTOGG®’s probiotic strain into the body despite a huge increase in the consumption of this probiotic strain by the population.
Similarly, clinical tests have verified its safety when consumed by elderly people over 95 years old.
