In a 6 month clinical trial, patients who were supplemented with a probiotic mixture containing GG probiotic reported 40% less IBS symptoms as compared to those not taking the probiotics.

The patients who experienced improvement in symptoms also experienced significant change in the composition of their intestinal germs, indicating that relief of symptoms was likely to be due to GG probiotic’s ability to modify the intestinal bacterial balance.
